Habitat classifications not included in the Dictionary
Land Use classifications are outside the scope of the NBN Habitats Dictionary and are not included. Examples are the Countryside Survey 2000 land cover mapping system and the European Environment Agency's CORINE Land Cover classification.
The Palaearctic Habitat Classification is the successor to the CORINE Biotopes Habitat Classification, and has been developed by the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences.
It has been extended to cover the whole Palearctic region. The great majority of habitat types in the Palaearctic Habitat Classification have been included in the EUNIS habitat classification.
