NBN Species Record Digitisation Trial Report (436 kB)

This project investigated various mechanisms available to digitise paper based species occurrence records. Each were assess on their respective strengths and weaknesses.  The findings are intended to help inform anyone considering digitisation of species records. The conclusions drawn will help the wider NBN digitisation project move towards establishing a centralised NBN digitisation strategy.

Defra Fund for Local Biodiversity Recording

In August 2007, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) announced its Fund for Innovation in Local Biodiversity Recording.  The overall aim of the fund is to develop the national network of local biological recording across England, increasing geographical scope, quantity and quality of biological information available to the general public and key public sector users through the NBN Gateway.
