Guidance

Are you interested in using the NBN tools or data for your own research?  If so, the following points may be useful.

The NBN Gateway Terms & Conditions must be followed in all cases.

Some of the key points relating to this type of use of NBN data are:

  1. You must credit the data providers
  2. You must reference the data and maps correctly and appropriately
  3. You should refer to the dataset metadata for full information on access rights
  4. You may not have full access to all the datasets relating to a specific query. Your level of access is always shown in the list of datasets that the query returns. You are STRONGLY ADVISED to seek improved access by selecting the relevant datasets and then clicking to request improved access.
  5. You must only reproduce information or maps at the resolution available to a non-registered user of the NBN Gateway, i.e. you cannot reproduce information if you have been granted improved access without the written permission of the data provider
  6. You may not republish wholesale the information made available to you, or exploit it for commercial or academic research purposes without first obtaining written permission from the relevant Data Provider.  Additional point added
