OPAL Tree health survey – coming soon

Trees are a vital and much-loved part of all our lives, bringing nature to our doorstep in urban areas, supporting the rural economy, providing food and habitats for wildlife, and helping to combat climate change.

However, our trees are under threat. The number of pests and diseases attacking trees in the UK has increased in the last few years.

In May 2013, OPAL will launch its seventh survey focusing on the health of the trees in your local environment.

The Government has already stepped up its activity to protect trees and you can help too by taking part in the OPAL tree health survey, designed in collaboration with Forest Research and FERA.

You can register now to be among the first people to receive the survey pack following the launch in May.
